Bert Johnson Enterprises Ltd (“BJE”) is Western Canada’s largest foodservice representative and a leading provider of imported foodservice products. Through the more than 40 years of business in the industry, BJE has been committed to the goal of providing the best foodservice solutions to the operators, dealers, consultants and service companies in its operating area and beyond. This goal is pursued through a portfolio of product lines, value minded products, and a team culture conducive to long term operation in a competitive industry.

BJE is committed to a strategy developed under five core themes: integrity, collaboration, hard work, self-driven, and capable of providing the best foodservice solutions. The Company strives to be product focused, cost effective and agile, with the goal of achieving long term growth for its many stakeholders. The Company maintains a strong program of education within its sales and marketing teams including technology upgrades, CFSP and CPMR programs.

BJE has a fiscally strong ownership group supported by dedicated long term employees executing our sales and cultural strategies with 50 major dealers and thousands of operators ranging from government to small business. Until late 2008, Dave and Bert Johnson ran the company together. In 2008, the ownership group was expanded to include two more veterans of the food service industry – Glen Good and Brian Collins. Glen Good
General Manager

Glen has been in the industry for 39 years starting with a sales position at Cassidy’s. Glen then moved on to his own venture for 4 years in CSS Food Equipment and Supplies and then Edmonton Food Equipment for another 9 years. From there Glen moved on to a Senior Marketing / Sales role with BridgeBrand Food Service (which moved its equipment division to Trimen). He also served on the Board of Directors for ESI, the largest foodservice buying group in Canada, elected by the 46 members in the group. Glen?s knowledge of the industry includes management or ownership in large and small communities across Alberta and BC.

Dave Johnson
Southern Alberta Territory Manager

Dave has been in the industry for over 30 years and is well known among his peers. Prior to 1977, Dave worked at and managed restaurants within the Keg Restaurant Chain. Since then he has been partnered with his father, Bert Johnson, as a manufacturers representative growing the business in Western Canada. His memberships and achievements include Chef Association, Level II Certified Foodservice Professionals, Dale Carnegie Course and the Food Safety Courses (CFSP).

James Pitz
Director of Strategic Alliance

James has been in the restaurant industry for over 10 years, beginning his career at Boston Pizza with a Diploma in Business and Marketing. Since then, James has taken on several management roles including bar service, front of house service and restaurant management. In addition to restaurant experience, James spent several years enlisted with the Canadian Armed Forces developing his management skills. In 2011, James was the Assistant General Manager of Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse; then in 2012 came to BJE as the Business Development Manager. James brings strong qualifications industry knowledge and client support, and is dedicated to enhancing dealer and restaurant satisfaction by developing strong and reliable relationships.

Lindsey Mork
British Columbia Territory Manager

Lindsey comes from a foodservice background with both a practical and sales participation. He is a Red Seal Certified Chef with 18 years experience in the culinary industry. In addition, he has worked with one of the most respected names in equipment in North America – Alto-Shaam – as their corporate chef in Western Canada supporting BJE equipment sales/demonstrations throughout Western Canada. Through his relationship with Alto-Shaam he has expanded his knowledge of the industry through end-user interaction, dealer relationships and chain meetings.

Brenda Craig
Accounting/Sales Support

Brenda has been with the company for more than 20 years and has evolved from receptionist to sales support, having done all aspects of customer service, accounting, sales meeting attendance and foodservice shows. Brenda has also completed the Dale Carnegie course.

Bill Bateman
Director of Marketing

Bill joined BJE in the fall of 2007 in the role of Communications and IT. The position has since evolved into a marketing and sales support role. He is a graphic artist and handles all of our printing, internet and other marketing needs. Bill also handles our limited internal technology needs.

Erin Mennie
Northern Alberta Territory Manager
Erin joined BJE in the fall of 2013 and comes from a background in the catering industry.
Gord Datillio
Director of Logistics and Procurement
Gord joined BJE during the summer of 2014 to handle our ever growing needs in the logistics and purchasing areas. Gord comes from a background of sales, freight and customer service.
